Soil Depth Prediction Model Using Terrain Attributes in Gangwon-do, South Korea

Soil depth is a crucial parameter in slope stability analysis mountainous areas. The drilling survey the most reliable method for determining soil depth, but it requires high cost vast geographical area. Therefore, this study proposes prediction model areas that uses Terrain Attributes (TAs) from digital maps. Gangwon-Do, predominantly region South Korea, selected as target area classified by parent rock type into igneous rocks, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. correlation with TAs analyzed through multi-collinearity using data published Korea information database. In addition, suitable combination of variables analysis, regression STI, TWI, SLOPE found to be appropriate (VIF < 10). proposed shows significance at p 0.001, coefficient (R2) figured out (0.702), (0.686), (0.693). reliability was verified regions not included development, coefficients were (0.867), (0.801), (0.814). more Korean topography than existing statistical models; can help increase accuracy analysis.
